The Bridal Fair at Rain Farm Game Lodge on October 5th was a wonderful exhibition of some of KZN’s most talented wedding service providers.
Rain Farm Game Lodge is a beautiful wedding destination. I had the privilege of staying at Rain Farm the evening before the fair. What a wonderful night I had. Rain Farm has a huge variety of bird species, as well as several kinds of buck and some giraffe. As I sat on the little veranda outside my room on Saturday night, taking in the beauty that is Rain Farm I enjoyed the beautiful night song of birds, I watched buck as they drank at the dam and wondered what it would be like to stay there forever.
I stayed in a stunning “dam front” room with a well equipped self catering kitchen and beautiful bathroom. As I soaked all of the stresses away in the Jacuzzi bath and contemplated the magical sounds outside I couldn’t help but wonder – is this what Maria Van Tropp meant when she sang “The Hills are Alive With The Sound of Music?”
The Bridal Fair was a delight, only slightly marred by the rain that came down in the morning. It seems Rain Farm was living up to its name…
This event was well organised by TJ and she coped incredibly well with moving service providers around as the rain came down: this speaks volumes as to how the team at Rain Farm would cope with any unforeseen changes if you were getting married at their venue (which is gorgeous by the way…)
There were so many vendors who were giving away spot prizes which was lovely to see. Rain Farm also gave away a wedding at their venue. Marianne Upton & Gregory Paul Edwards, who won the prize, were overjoyed. As Marianne’s name was called out we all heard a very enthusiastic “Yes” from what I think was Paul. Watch this space; we will be featuring their wedding in Brides Essence when it happens.
The Fashion show which took place in the chapel was a hit. The models looked beautiful and it seemed they were having a great time.
The Bridal Fair is an annual event at Rain Farm. If you are getting married in 2016, the 2015 fair should definitely be pencilled into your diary.
