This is an incredibly affordable alternative for many European and American travelers and there is a diversity and spirit in Africa that cannot be explained but has to be experienced. I myself was born in the United Kingdom, however once you have lived in Africa (any part of it) for long enough it becomes a part of you and no matter your colour or creed you realise we are all truly African.
Let us take a brief journey of discovery into Southern Africa and visit some of the destinations that we could travel to for our honeymoons or consider as wedding destinations.
Limpopo Province is home to the infamous Kruger National Park with its two million hectares of prime savannah. This national park is a well-managed and structured natural sanctuary. Within this ecological environment live all the living creatures that one can imagine. A sighting of these creatures does however depend on the season as well as the vegetation type in the particular part of the park that is being visited.
The rivers, trees, vegetation and the Big Five all form part of this diverse wildlife area that is bordered by Mozambique in the East and Zimbabwe to the North. The Big Five includes The African Elephant, the Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and the Rhinoceros, so named, as they are the five most difficult animals to hunt in the African bushveld.
Stretching for 350km it intimately bonds the threads of life that make up the patterns of nature. Each one intertwines so perfectly with the other. Each morning wakes and new life and death are revealed in this consistently altering diverse ecological environment.
